I recently  purchased your online book on teaching swimming and I've found it to be most helpful.  I've had a little private swim lesson business going for seven summers now, and I've looked everywhere for materials that would enhance my teaching, esp. in regards to reaching my more reluctant clients, but found little out there that I did not already know or could practically implement.  

I'm having a great time trying out some of your ideas, esp. the "kiss the poolside animals" approach...the little ones love it!   Most importantly, however, your book confirmed my inner suspicion that some children just aren't ready for formal lessons and should not be pushed beyond what they are willing to do, despite their parents expectations.  I needed to hear this from someone with your experience.

I am loving your book, am nearly finished. It is exactly what I was looking for a 'gentle' approach. I'm taking a swimming instructor's course which is being given by a professional team coach so his approach is everything but gentle! It's no where close to the kind of teaching I was thinking of which is why I decided to look elsewhere for someone with the kind of approach to kids and teaching that I have.

I love the idea of using toys to sit at the side. I live in Israel and obviously there are lots of immigrants here (including me) so my puppet who will be joining us on our first lesson is going to be a new immigrant from Russia who is a bit shy cause he doesn't speak the language so well and needs their help along the way.
